Long info:
I'm Robin/Gibbles [they/them] and I'm an expat from Tumblr, though my fandom youth was spent on FF.net and DeviantArt. I've come to Dreamwidth in search of fandom communities that aren't exclusively full of people half my age, and just in general making more Friends On The Internet.

The Interest Of The Moment is Warframe, which really took me by surprise -- I'd hardly heard anything about it, ever, and someone made a single post on Tumblr implying it had a story...so I went and played it, and holy shit guys. There sure is a fucking STORY. Other than that I'm always ready to talk about Final Fantasy 14.

I try to write and draw when I have time, though motivation is hard to come by recently. I am hopelessly addicted to fluff and happy endings, even when I explore somewhat darker themes.

I used to roleplay almost constantly in years past but have had a hard time recently breaking into new communities, especially given that I don't stick with one character or fandom that long.

Other than fannish things I have a strong interest in disability issues (especially Autism), mental health, and general Social Justice so to speak, though I find myself more often on the intellectual side than the political, as much as I'd like to make a difference in that space...I'm just generally interested in understanding people and making sense of the world. I also enjoy gardening, though more theoretically these days (aforementioned lack of motivation). I love learning about local plants and ecosystems.

I would love to have language buddies to help learn and practice Japanese.

Anyways, I hope that I can find some communities to be a part of here. I'd love to make more friends.

I'm trying so so hard to get myself interested in this site lol, like I enjoy everything about it in theory but have yet to entrench myself anywhere in a way that makes me excited to come back and check it regularly, much less post regularly...

I think maybe I'm way too used to completely low-effort ways of interacting with people online whereas here you kind of have to, you know, read people's stuff and talk to them about it. Which is why it's a great place, but it's a bit of an adjustment from my slowly lessening lack of intentional engagement with online spaces.

What do you mean I actually have to get to know people... awful. Can't believe I have to be social on a social media site.
